  • Descrição: The owner of a taverna in Piraeus, mister Giorgis Kollas (Dionysis Papagiannopoulos), has sent his son Giannis to Europe, whence he returns an educated man. He marries a high-class woman named Riri Kalantzi and is elected to Parliament. He is absorbed immediately by the social environment of his mother-in-law, since she has told everyone that his father is a shipowner. His father will have to appear one day, so he is given lessons on manners and behavior in order to fit in. Quickly, though, he becomes the one giving lessons in honesty and straightforwardness to the conceited and, at times, deceitful bourgeois, whose grandfathers had been simple day-laborers.
